Our Team !

The Leythers M.B. team was formed about 7 years ago and first started off life training on the Marshes playing field but then in Winter they moved onto a floodlit  Bowling green behind the back of a well known Leigh Pub.

The team started off with as little as 4 - 6 players back in the early days before more people heard about the team and training sessions.

Their first tournament was played in Woolston , Warrington in November 2002 . If any details here are incorrect I'm sure that I will be corrected.

We try to play one or two games per month and teams we play against are , Halifax , Featherstone , Rochdale, Wakefield , Hull FC , East Riding in the newly formed TML League.

We also play tackle games , against the likes of Wigan , Warrington , St Helens and Sheffield plus any other supporters teams that request matches.

Things looking up for the Leigh M.B.

Things are now looking up for the Leythers M.B. Team. We have switched training night from Fridays to Wednesdays in order to try and have more players training at the same time, this seems to be working with more people being able to make Wednesdays sessions.

Big thanks goes out to Leigh East for accomodating us , training facilities are excellent at Ledgard Avenue.

We train Wednesdays 8pm - 9pm Winter Months  , Options for another night in Summer @ The marshes is something we need to discuss as a team.

Thanks once again ,

Gaz and Jon .

Leythers M.B. Nights out.............

Somewhere out of town possibly Blackpool , Liverpool or Manchester , anywhere for  a change of scenery really !

T.B.A. sometime in  2008 , all M.B. Players to discuss and hopefully we'll have it organised asap...
